Pictavia’s future at risk

Brechin’s Pictavia Centre could face closure if the VisitScotland Information Centre is removed from the premises as proposed next year.

Currently Angus Council has a Minute of Agreement with VisitScotland where the council contributed £10,000 towards the running of the Brechin site.

This agreement is due for renewal in April and VisitScotland has intimated that due to high running costs and low visitor numbers to the information centre that this agreement is unsustainable.

They have agreed to extend the agreement until October 2014 to allow time for options for the future of Pictavia to be considered.
