Plans in place for Easter in the City

BRAVO Brechin is gearing up for its first event for 2015 - Easter in the City.

Taking place on Saturday, April 4, the event includes a special Easter show at the City Hall, with two showings at midday and 3 p.m.

The show, performed by PAWS (Play Along With Us), focuses on the story of one particularly funny bunny as he tries to graduate from Brechin’s Bunny College. Complete with songs and actions the audience can join in with, it’s an Easter Bonanza for all the family.

PAWS Theatre was born with the express purpose of providing part of the platform for Brechin’s “Easter In the City” entertainment. The group was founded by the children’s presenter of Kids Music Shop DVDs - Tony Scott George.

The cast for the show includes Tony Scott George and Brechin’s familiar Panto favourite Brian Matheson.

Tickets cost £5 and are on sale at Sweets & Treats, Newsplus and Rosies Bakehouse.

Like previous years, there will also be a Bonnets and Bunnets competition. The competition is open to all ages, and there are a variety of prizes up for grabs. Entries can be submitted to Brechin Town House Museum from March 30 until no later than 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 4.

The Town House Museum will also be accepting entries of the best Painted egg competition, with entries to be submitted by midday on April 4.

Other events taking place include an Easter Egg Hunt, Brechin Bass Band, market stalls and there will also be classic cars on display.

As part of the festivities, the High Street and Church Street will be closed from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. on April 4.

Residents and businesses affected by the road closure will receive a letter from BRAVO Brechin outlining the closure.
