A local Brechin councillor has heaped praise on the organisers and volunteers who helped make the Harley Davidson in the City event such a success.

Speaking on Monday, Councillor Bob Myles, who took to the water slide and recorded one of the quicker times, said the event was “absolutely amazing”.

He continued: “What pleased me the most was the huge effort put in by the volunteers.

“I’d like to say a big, big thank you to all who helped. The event fairly had Brechin buzzing.

“Everyone pulled together and it was brilliant.

“Long may it continue.”

He added: “It brings a feel good factor to Brechin and it definitely brings people in.

“It puts Brechin on the map in a positive way.”

Councillor Myles wasn’t the only one to speak highly of the event, with plenty of praise for it on the Brechin Advertiser’s Facebook page.

Mary Fraser posted: “Well it was a brilliant day. 10 out 10 to the volunteers and BRAVO. Enjoyed seeing all the bikes coming into the town. It is great to see the town buzzing with folk.

“Loved the music and there was lots of fun for the kids also and the adults with the slide in city road I think everyone was having a great time. Roll on to next year’s event.”

Sheena Graham added: “Great day out, well done BRAVO and all who took part in making it a good success.”

A spokesperson for the BRAVO Brechin group added their thanks to the town for turning out to support the event.

They said: “A huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported the event.

“From marshals, stewards, traders, helpers, bikers, sliders and of course you the public. You make these days - we just organise them.

“A very special thank you from Chris MacPhee and the Dunedin HOG 9083 to Lord and Lady Dalhousie for their very kind hospitality, tea, coffee and bacon butties and to the lovely ladies from Gardner Memorial church for serving.”
