Sign up for the Song Shop’s summer workshops

THE singing, acting and dancing talent of local youngsters will be brought to the fore during the school holidays when The Song Shop holds its summer workshop.

The week-long workshop will run from Monday, July 11 to Friday, July 15 in what is hailed as “the best week of the summer”.

Children aged from four to 16 are invited to apply for the popular event which takes place in the Old and St Andrew’s Church Halls, Montrose.

The Song Shop’s Summer Workshop started in 2003 and since then has grown in popularity.

The week is aimed at immersing the students in the performing arts and having lots of fun in the process.

There is no audition, and no previous experience is required, just bucket loads of enthusiasm.

For children aged seven to 16 the workshop runs from 10 am to 4 pm daily with a performance on the last day at 6 pm.

The students present the material that they have been working on and devising throughout the week - songs, dances and drama pieces.

There is a shorter Workshop for children aged four to seven which runs in the afternoons from 1.30 pm to 3.45 pm. Children sign up for the entire week and not just individual days.

As places are limited, it is best to apply in advance.

Application forms are available from The Song Shop on 01674 673236 or by e-mailing fraser@thesongshop.force9.co.uk
