THERE are only a few days remaining to sample the delights of “Something Palatable” - an exciting new exhibition which runs at Montrose Library until this Saturday.

The exhibition gives an insight into the artistic development of students as they journey through art college in a project which the artists hope will inspire others to follow in their footsteps.

“Something Palatable” features the work of three art students - Sharon Mottram, Siobhan Morison and Amanda Lambert - who first met at Dundee College.

Their friendship continued as they progressed into Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design where they have completed their first year studies.

They explained: “In general, artists wait till after graduation to exhibit their work outside of college.

“We believe that sharing and recording our journey could inspire others and in turn teach us more about ourselves and the business we are in.

“The exhibition at Montrose Library consists of work inspired by the experimental nature of our first year.

“Our art is very different so we feel we can provide something for everyone to enjoy.”

The exhibition runs until August 26 and the opening hours co-incide with the library’s.

The library is open for the remainder of this week on Wednesday (today) from 9.30 to 8; Thursday, 9.30 to 6; Friday, 9.30 to 5; Saturday, 9.30 to 5 - Sunday closed.
