St Andrew’s Church to hold fundraising family fun day

St Andrew’s Church is to hold a ‘Magical Family Fun Day’ in the church grounds on Saturday, May 23, to raise funds for the upkeep of the church.

Secretary Margaret Watson explained: “We know that it has been extremely difficult times for everyone as it has been for ourselves and the community who rely upon us to be there for them. All the help and support you can give us in this venture would be truly appreciated.”

As part of the day, there will be two performances of the mesmerising Allan’s Magic Shows for children and adults.

The Brechin Brass band will perform, and there will a BBQ and other refreshments in a marquee. There will also be a bouncy castle and other attractions for the children to tire themselves out.

Margaret added: “We have beautiful floral art displays throughout the Church for you to enjoy. Demonstrations of how to create fantastic floral works of art which you will have the opportunity to bid for and own at auction afterwards. Our local Brownies will be there to help on the fun stalls such as ‘Lucky Sox’, ‘Church Golf, ‘Roll a Coin’, ‘Hook a Duck’, and ‘Name the Doggie’.

“We are introducing, a first for us, ‘Chicken Hurlin’. No chickens are hurt in this activity in any way! So come along and try it and have a laugh, you could be the first St. Andrew’s Adult or Junior ‘Chicken Hurlin’ Champion for 2015, prizes to be won.

“We are running a Grand Prize Raffle of £100 cash prize, a large cuddly Dragon, a bottle of Macallan Malt Whisky and many other prizes. For the Quiz buffs in our midst we will have a quiz to challenge you and you can win £20 or if you prefer and are good at clues there is a Treasure Hunt around the grounds to win the treasure chest!”
