Entries should be submitted electronically to the City of Brechin and District Community Council website for judging – email to The competition will cover the Angus Show on June 8-9, the Olympic Torch relay on June 12 and the Harley Davidson ride in on July 14.

There will be a prize of a gold, silver or bronze medal in each of the following age categories: up to 12 years, 13 to 18 years and 18+ and judging will be done by a panel of experts.

Entries are to be submitted in electronic format by the end of July. The final results will be announced by the end of August. Each entry should include the entrant’s name address and postcode and the age category being entered. Entrants must reside within the City of Brechin and District Community Council area.

Grahame Lockhart, Convener commented: “The Community Council has been busy establishing itself and focusing on the Brechin Community Campus. We had been thinking of a competition tying in to some of the exciting events within the community this summer and thought we should try this out.

As you will see, the competition is open to entries from people of all ages and I encourage all budding artists to have a go. We hope to receive a good response so that we can gauge whether this is worthy of repeating in future years.”

The entries can be about one event or all three. Entrants are not restricted to one entry. If anyone wishes to take a photo and write a poem, rap etc, that’s allowed but every entry must have the entrant’s details.
