Supernatural tales

FORBES Inglis, local freelance writer and author, is visiting Kirriemuir Library on Tuesday, May 10.

Forbes will meet and share tales with the library’s newly established Reminiscing Group between 11.30am to 12.30pm. He will talk about his new book Phantoms and Fairies: Tales of the Supernatural in Angus and Dundee.

The book reveals an abundance of paranormal stories and legends rooted in Angus, from folktales about kelpies to ghosts at Montrose airfield.

Senior library assistant Aurora Mackintosh said the library was pleased to welcome Forbes who had to cancel a visit in December due to the bad weather.

She said: “I think this is a great chance for people to hear about local folklore as well as haunted locations nearby. Forbes’ tales might make familiar places seem a little different after he has revealed their more spooky side.”

Forbes will be happy to stay and chat with readers and there will be copies of the book for sale, which Forbes will be happy to sign.  To book your place contact the library on 01575 572357.
