Brechin Horticultural Society will host their annual flower show in the City Hall on Friday, September 13, and Saturday, September 14.
As usual the show is open to entries from the pubic and will run from 2 to 6 p.m. on the Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Saturday.
Trophies will be presented at 4 p.m. on the Saturday by Charlie Allison and, following the presentation and raffle draw, some of the prize winning blooms will be available to the public for a donations.
To enter the show you do not need to be an expert, as secretary for the group, David Dyker explains: “We are always keen to encourage new exhibitors and would stress that you do not need to be an expert to take part.
“Take a look at the list of classes in the schedule and you might find one or two that would suit you.
“Please do not be intimidated by the massive onions or leeks and the superb vases of flowers you see at the show, they are shown by seasoned exhibitors, but remember, they had to start somewhere.
“There are lots of classes and we have expanded our novice sections which is suitable for the first timer.
“Members of the committee will be in attendance to give advice.”
The show and society membership is open to everyone - even those who don’t live in Brechin.
“I would also like to put out a plea for assistance from any fit person who has a couple of hours spare to help with the set-up and dismantling of the show staging,” continued David.
If you can help, meet at the back door of the City Hall at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11 and 8 a.m. on Sunday, September 15, or contact David on 01356 622503 or email email@example.com.
