Video: Brechiners welcome Queen’s Baton

Brechiners turned out in their droves to welcome the Queen’s Baton when it arrived in the town today (Saturday).

Despite earlier heavy rain, the crowds’ spirit wasn’t dampened as they cheered on the eight baton bearers during their trip through the town.

The baton arrived in the town just after 5.45 p.m and passed through Swan Street, Clerk Street, Southesk Street and Montrose Street before it continued on to Montrose.

The baton bearers for the Brechin leg were Derek Mitchell, Gary Robertson, Taylor Wood, Jim Milne, Svetlana Needham, Lyndsay Gray, Dana McFarlane and Kerry Walker.
