Council launch media group

Brechin youths with an interest in film, photography and animation are being sought by Angus Council to work with 2Reel Creations.

The local authority’s community learning and development service is looking for a dynamic team of 14 to 25 year olds who have an interest in creative media.

The service is working alongside 2Reel Creations to help young people develop their skills, while also providing experience in acting, film production, photography and animation.

2Reel Creations is a group of young people who produce films and/or animations focused around issues that affect today’s youth.

Most of the films and animation the group produces are made available on the national Young Scot website and on the 2Reel Creations You Tube channel.

The group work alongside the Inspire group, a youth journalist group, Radio Angus, a youth radio station and a soon to be set up drama group for young people forming a multimedia hub for young people living in Angus.

The group are keen to hear from interested individuals as they have a number of projects they would like to carry out in the coming year, including working with young people in the Perth and Kinross area.

Anyone aged 14 to 25 who is interested in becoming part of the group are invited to attend the meetings on a Thursday evening from 6.30 to 8.30 p.m. at Montrose Road Centre, Montrose Road, Forfar.

Anyone who is unable to attend the meetings but is interested in getting involved, can also e-mail for further information on the project.
