MONTROSE will be All Shook Up on Saturday, September 15 when world champion Elvis tribute artist, Johnny Lee Memphis makes his first appearance in Angus at the Town Hall.

Having just returned from reaching the finals at the prestigious Collingwood Elvis Festival in Canada, this promises to be a spectacular show for Elvis and music fans alike.

Johnny runs a health and fitness club in Grangemouth by day, but by night he takes to the stage as Johnny Lee Memphis in his tribute to the King of Rock & Roll.

The incredible show in association with Montrose Events, sees Johnny take to the stage, bringing with him the fantastic JLM band featuring the Memphis Belles to give a two hour long show, belting out hit after hit in his tribute to the King. His career started in 2005 entering various Elvis Tribute Artist contests for fun and the love of Elvis. He considers himself very lucky to have achieved recognition as a European finalist for three consecutive years starting in 2008 again in 2009 and also 2010. From his success in reaching the finals of the European Elvis Championships in 2008 Johnny was chosen and he graciously accepted the award for “Best Vegas Elvis 2008” at one of the World’s Largest Elvis Festivals held in Porthcawl, South Wales. In January 2010 he won 3rd place at the European Elvis Championships, which, at that time was held in Blackpool. In April 2010 he won second place at the “Images of the King” regional qualifier. Johnny’s incredible vocal range, stage presence and likeness to the king earned him the title of World Champion at the Elvis World Cup in Wales on July 4th 2010, a title which he proudly holds until 2014. Proceeds from the concert are to be donated to the Links Park Community Trust, an initiative combining sport and education, with the aim of the trust is to encourage children of all ages to get involved. Tickets priced £15 are available from 01674 678080 (card facilities available) or in person at ‘Not Just 4 Kidz’ 15 George St, Montrose.
