Angus Arts is set to host an exclusive concert in Laurencekirk this Saturday (May 10).
The local charity will welcome the Conway Trio to Dickson Hall. Will Conway, one of Britain’s foremost cellists and conductors and member of Hebrides Ensemble, will be joined by Sarah Bevan-Baker (violin) and Catherine Marwood (viola) for what should prove to be an outstanding concert.
This exciting trio are performing an exclusive, specially commissioned concert for Angus Arts, as Maria MacDonell, co-creative director of the charity, explains: “Will Conway played a solo cello recital for us last year which was a great success, so we asked him if he’d like to return to Angus Arts this spring. He suggested playing in a trio and asked two of his colleagues at Hebrides Ensemble to join him, and so Conway Trio was born! This is an exclusive appearance by the trio, and we’re hugely excited to be hosting this concert.
“We are also delighted to be hosting this concert at the beautifully restored Dickson Hall in Laurencekirk, a venue that has a reputation for having great acoustics. With a location that is so easily accessible from the A90 we are hoping to attract people of all ages from Angus, Aberdeenshire and beyond, and would like to thank Enterprise Music Scotland for helping to make this concert possible.”
Angus Arts is well known for the wide range of arts experiences it offers, both in doors and out of doors, through performances, workshops and other events. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the concert starts at 7.30. Tickets cost £10 per adult and £5 for a student or child (concession). Tickets can be booked by phoning 01561 298173, 01356 648669 or by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
