The 2011 pantomime at the Webster Memorial Theatre, Arbroath is Puss in Boots.
It will be presented/produced by Bruce James Productions in association with Angus Council. The show will be directed by Bruce James and written by Philip Meeks, who wrote and directed last year’s smash hit ‘Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs’.
The pantomime will star Edward Reid (from ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent as Dame Doris Dimple; Pamela Byrne (BBC Scotland’s River City) as Princess Heather; Donna Hazelton (winner of Channel 4’s Musicality), back by public demand, as the Wicked Witch Wysteria; Graeme Waggott from the Radio Tay as King Juan; Gordon Brandie as Donald the Daftie and Gary Lamont (BBC Scotland’s River City) as Handsome Hamish.
It runs for 31 performances from Friday, December, 9 to Wednesday, December 28. There will be some fantastic singing and dancing and a large dose of comedy, sparkle, magic and spectacle thrown in for good measure!!
Bruce James Productions and Angus Council have announced their Schools Competition for 2011 which co-incides with the pantomime.
It is open to children aged five to 14 who are invited to design a cape for Puss in Boots himself! The closing date for entries is Monday, November 21.
Each cape design should be as imaginative as possible; remember to put your name, age and contact details on the back of your entry! All of the designed entries will be on display at the Webster Memorial Theatre throughout the run of the pantomime and three lucky winners will all win family tickets to see the show. There will be one overall winner who will see their uniquely designed cape made and used throughout the run of the pantomime by Puss in Boots himself!
