Creative minds in Brechin are reminded to take part in the City of Brechin and District Community Council’s competition to showcase the number of events that have taken place, or are due to take place, in Brechin this summer.
The idea behind the competition is for members of the community who live within the Community Council area to take a photo, produce a piece of art or write a rap, a poem or a piece of prose depicting Brechin’s events.
Entries should be submitted electronically to the City of Brechin and District Community Council website for judging by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
The competition covers the Angus Show on June 8 and 9, the Olympic Torch relay on June 12 and the Harley Davidson ride which takes place this Saturday, July 14.
There will be a prize of a gold, silver or bronze medal in each of the following age categories: up to 12 years, 13 to 18 years and 18+ and judging will be done by a panel of experts.
Entries are to be submitted in electronic format by the end of July. The final results will be announced by the end of August.
Each entry should include the entrant’s name, address and postcode and the age category being entered.
The entries can be about one event or all three and entrants are not restricted to just one entry.
If anyone wishes to take a photo and write a poem, rap etc, that’s allowed but every entry must have the entrant’s details.
The community council are keen to have as wide a participation as possible however entrants must reside within the City of Brechin and District Community Council area.
