FROM remote village halls to the Royal Albert “Village” Hall, Blazin’ Fiddles has delighted audiences with their fiddle music and tales.
They are at Dundee Rep Theatre on Thursday, June 28 at 7.30 pm.
From solo to ensemble sets, they come together in a fiery blend that raises the roof.
Scotland’s award winning group Blazin’ Fiddles draw their distinct flavour of fiddle music from various regions of the highlands and islands.
Fiddles and bows blaze away with guitar and piano for one of the most exciting and memorable fiddle ensembles ever to take the stage.
What began as a project for the Highland Festival almost 15 years ago, continues as one of Scotland’s top traditional bands. In the past decade no other band has quite captured the excitement, passion and the sensitivity of Scottish music.
The line up comprises multi-instrumentalist and emerging composer Allan Henderson; Anna Massie, another multi-instrumentalist who excels in playing the fiddle, mandolin, tenor banjo and guitar; Jenna Reid, a Aprotégé of the greatest names in Shetland fiddling; fiddler Bruce MacGregor who st up Blazin’ Fiddles and Iain MacFarlane who, as well as touring with ‘Blazin Fiddles’, is principle fiddle tutor at Plocton Music School of Excellence.
