THE YOUNGSTERS of Brechin’s St Andrew’s Choir had their debut last week at St Andrews Church.

The choir was the brainchild of Father David Mumford and was formed from primary schoolchildren in Brechin only seven weeks ago, under the expert guidance of Bernard Liddiard.

Bernard is well known for leading the Brechin Choral group and was delighted when asked to use his musical leadership skills to encourage a younger group to develop their singing talents.

The youngsters, who were obviously enjoying themselves, put on a most entertaining and polished performance to the delight of a good size audience.

The concert was completed with several instrumental items from the older children who are pupils of Mrs Heather Miranda from Dundee.

Bernard announced that he hoped the choir will get together for a concert at Christmas time. So – watch this space!

If any child is interested in joining the choir they should contact their head teacher.
