PIANIST Joseph Fleetwood, originally from Arbroath, has performed all over the UK and Europe, broadcast on BBC TV and Radio and has a commercially available CD.
He returns to Arbroath to perform a concert of works by Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Mozart, Liszt and Debussy amongst others on Thursday, September 22 at the Webster Memorial Theatre’s Assembly Hall at 7.30 pm.
Joseph is a graduate of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, and the Royal College of Music in London. He gave his debut recital in Scotland in 1992 and in his teenage years his performances attracted acclaim from many musicians.
Whilst still a student he gave several concerto performances including Gershwin’s Rhapsody In Blue with the RSAMD orchestra, Beethoven’s First Concerto and Grieg’s Piano Concerto. As a collaborative artist he won the RSAMD’s coveted Lieder Prize with Australian Soprano Miranda Keys and at the Royal College of Music he was awarded First-Class honours for his chamber music performances of Beethoven and Shostakovich Piano Trios.
A pianist with a formidable technique, Joseph has a number of the great piano concerti in his repertoire.
