LIVELY local charity Angus Arts invites everyone to put those dancing shoes on and hot-foot it to the Inchbare Hall, Stracathro by Edzell, on Saturday, September 1 for what promises to be another evening of fabulous live ceilidh music.
Following last year’s hugely successful event, Angus Arts have invited back Skirdechal, a new and up and coming local youth music group. Created by Angus Council’s Youth Music Initiative, the group has just released their debut album ‘Folk on the Water’ which will be on sale during the evening.
The ceilidh is an important fundraiser for north east based charity Angus Arts, whose aim is to encourage creativity in people of all ages and abilities. They offer a year-round programme of wonderful events, bringing to the rural community top quality theatre, music, puppetry and workshops, as well as work in schools and colleges and support for learning centres.
The event gets underway at 7pm and should finish around 11pm. Inchbare hall is easy to reach, just off the A90 on the B966 towards Edzell, and there are full disabled facilities as well as ample parking.
There will be a raffle and a small tuck-shop (with plentiful amounts of water and juice freely available!), however everyone is invited to bring along their own picnic if they’d like to.
Sales of Skirdechal’s CD will go towards the continued development of this vibrant young music group. Tickets costing £4 or £14 for a family of four are available from 01674 850842 or 01356 670304/670669 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
