BURN House by Edzell played host to the Gilbert and Sullivan Society from St Andrews University to raise money for Goodwill and Growth Africa.
The event, which took place earlier this month, was gearing up well with tickets selling quickly.
However, with the wintry weather arriving in the area, organisers were concerned that the evening may not go ahead, but David Turner (the present bursar at the Burn), cleared a way in to the estate.
Irene Gillies, who helped organise the event alongside Cheryl Birse, said: “I would like to thank all the brave souls who came out that night. Once everyone gathered in the house, it was warm and cosy and the glass of wine was more than welcome after travelling in the snow.”
Irene added: “Cheryl and I would like to say thank you to David Turner and staff at the Burn House, all the young people from St. Andrews and especially all those who attended the evening.”
There are three raffles prizes still to be claimed. Ticket numbers are as follows:-
Blue, 300; peach, 60; white, 194.
