FROM the company that brought you West Side Story, Bird Theatre Company returns to the Gardyne Theatre in Dundee with a stunning new production of Kander and Ebb’s Cabaret.
The show runs from Thursday, April 4 to Saturday, April 6 at 7.30 p.m. with a matinee on Saturday at 2.30 p.m.
Set in the Kit Kat Club in early 1930s Berlin during the rise of the Nazi party, this iconic musical version of Christopher Isherwood’s books tells the tale of Sally Bowles, a cabaret singer and Clifford Bradshaw, an American writer. A sub-plot involves the doomed romance between German boarding house owner Fräulein Schneider and her elderly suitor Herr Schultz, a Jewish fruit vendor. The 1966 Broadway production became a hit and spawned a 1972 film as well as numerous subsequent productions.
