FORFAR Musical Society is in the middle of rehearsals for this year’s pantomime, Dick Whittington, to be performed between from Wednesday, December 12 to Saturday, December 15.
This year’s principal cast will be; Dick Whittington – Marley Laurie; Alice – Sally McLean; Dora – Dave Mitchell; Alderman Fitzwarren – Craig Anderson; Jack – Melanie Coull; Penny – Louise Cumming; Fairy Bowbells - Susan Douglas; Demon Rat – Gordon Philip; Tracy – Joan Mitchell; Cap’n Jack – Ewan Phillip; Tugboat L’il – Carolyn McLean; Bosun – Louise Rioch; Mate – Lisa Callander; Sultan – Tracy Dryburgh; Tommy the cat – Rebecca Mitchell. Unable to perform their pantomime last year, members are excited to be bringing this back to the Forfar public in December. There is a change to this year’s Saturday performances; the two shows will be at 11a.m and 3.30p.m, in order to make the times more suitable for younger audience and those who have commitments on a Saturday evening. The evening performances throughout the week will begin at 7.30 pm as usual. Tickets will soon be available from Toycastle, Castle Street, Forfar.
This year, each ticket for any night/matinee performance will be set at £5, the least expensive pantomime throughout Angus and Dundee.
Block bookings of 10 or over can be arranged via the society phone on 07842955901. These group bookings will receive reserved seating as well as a free choc-ice at the interval for each member of the group.
As spokesperson said: “As a society, we also welcome any help during the week of the show from the public, whether it be as a stagecrew member or assisting prior to the shows by selling programmes/raffle tickets/ collecting audience tickets and many other ‘jobs’. We look forward to seeing you all in December.”
