Rehearsals for Brechin Amateur Operatic Society’s latest musical production start up again next week and the group is appealing for old and new members to join the group.

This year’s production will be ‘Calamity Jane’ with rehearsals starting on Tuesday, September 25, in the City Hall moving to Sunday and Tuesday nights in January.

The production team, the same team for the past three shows, for Calamity Jane comprises: producer Graeme Baird; musical director Gordon Smith; and choreographer Liz Burns-Smith.

The show will take place from March 5 to March 9, 2013.

The long-established group, who are due to celebrate their 50th anniversary in 2014, is a friendly, fun and enthusiastic musical society which produces a musical in the City Hall each year.

Previous shows that the society have produced over the past few years have included ‘Little Me’, ‘The Music Man’, ‘Brigadoon’ and ‘Phantom of the Country Opera’ to name a few.

Anyone interested in joining the society or who has any questions, please contact the society on info@brechinamateuroperatic.co.uk or by contacting the society president Gill Gerlings on 07932 418383 or email gillgerlings@yahoo.co.uk.
