S Club competition at Youth Concert

Music lovers are being offered the chance to win two tickets to the S Club performance at this year’s Brechin Music Fest.

Graeme Strachan from the Brechin Music Fest committee explained that they will be running a competition at this year’s Youth Concert.

The concert has kicked off the Music Fest in previous years, and 2015 will be no different with the event taking place at the City Hall on Thursday, August 27.

The event will showcase some of Angus’ own talent with five local bands performing, plus three dance troops.

The dance troops are from the Arbroath-based ‘Showcase The Street’ and the ‘Lil’ Leopards’ age eight and under, ‘Hustle’ age 14 and under and ‘Obedience’ age 18 and under.

Musical performers include Lori-Jane Ferries, Cheryl Brown, Burnout, Sorella and Around 7.

Graeme explained: “We’ve got five young Angus bands, plus the dance troops from Arbroath who are going to give demonstrations.

“They’re actually performing in a championship in Glasgow a few days after the youth concert.”

The event, which is sponsored by the Cookie Matheson Trust, will take place from 6.30 to 10pm and entry is free.

Graeme said: “We’re planning to do a raffle to win two tickets to S Club.

This will include a chance to meet the band as well.”

The tickets for the S Club event have already sold out, so it’s the last opportunity for anyone wishing to get tickets.
