Music lovers in Brechin are in for a treat next month when a top American youth choir will perform in the town as part of the Aberdeen International Youth Festival (AIYF).
Madison Youth Choirs from Wisconsin will be at Brechin Cathedral on August 1. Quarryhill Primary School choir, from Aberdeen, will perform a prelude ahead of the main performance.
A spokesperson for the Madison choirs said they would deliver a classical set and would perform an uplifting and exciting repertoire sure to be even more special in the setting of Brechin Cathedral.
She said that the choir would bring 71 members with them to participate in the AIYF and included singers from each of their boy choir ensembles.
“Ranging in age from nine to 18 and including unchanged, changing and changed voices, these singers represent our entire boy choir programme of more than 120 members,” she added.
The choir will be performing in Brechin as part of AIYF’s extended festival which allows people throughout the North East to enjoy talent from across the world.
“The extended festival will give everyone across the North East the chance to see some of the world’s most exciting and talented youth performers,” continued the spokesperson.
Tickets for the performance in Brechin are available from the Cathedral Office in Church Street between 9.30a.m. and noon and cost £8 and £6 for concessions.
