FOLLOWING the resounding success of the Summer’s Forfarfest, The Plough in Forfar hopes to see a capacity crowd again at it’s own Ploofest, an 19 band two-day event on Friday and Saturday, September 21 and 22.

The top billing is Northern Irish guitarist and singer Henry Cluney, the original Stiff Little Finger on the Friday evening. Henry, now based in Minnesota USA, is on a tour taking in all corners of the UK. Music fans will be treated to some true classics as well as new material from his new album, Ashes. The main support on the night comes from The Trade. The evening continues with the female led rock covers band, Cherry Bombz. The evening begins at 8pm with That Girl Gail on stage and the MC is Dundonian comedy queen Joon Broon.

The Saturday event is a 14 band line-up of punk, metal and good-time rock’n’ roll with bands from around Scotland, including some local favourites and headlined by Sheffield band the Wet Nuns. The Saturday event is entitled ‘Plough yer ears in’ on Facebook and the line-up includes The Vultures, Creeping Ivies, Hell is Harmony, Sparrowhawk Orkestral, The Rag ‘n’ Bone man, Fake, The Boy Orchestra and Astrea. Saturday stage is from 1pm to 1am.

Tickets are on sale for both priced £5 per day or £8 weekend, from Plough or Kirrie Art Gallery.
