The cast of Brechin’s pantomime are gearing up for curtains up, with the first performance set to take place on Wednesday, December 4.

The show, put on by Brechin Combined Productions (a collaboration between Brechin Amateur Operatic Society and Opus Theatre Club), will run at the City Hall at 7.30 p.m. from Wednesday, December 4, to Saturday, December 7, with a matinee on Saturday at 2.30 p.m.

The production team consists of the talented Graeme Baird, producer; and Ron Stewart, musical director; with the newly added Laura Ferguson, choreographer.

A spokesperson for the panto said: “Aladdin this year will be played by Maia Middleton and Princess So-Shy is played by Erin Smith. The wonderful Brian Mathieson is Widow Twankey with young Wishee Washee played by Caitlyn Boyd. Newcomer Miller Young is the evil Abanazar with Ross Robertson playing the good Genie of the Lamp. Village policemen PC Ping and Pong are the funny Teresa Warden and Danielle Collie. With lots of other parts being played and rehearsed we are looking forward to show week.”

Tickets for the panto are on sale now from Newsplus on St. David’s Street, Brechin. The spokesperson added: “Tickets for this year’s pantomime are selling fast and you don’t want to miss out!

“Tickets are £7 for stalls and £9 for balcony. Come along to boo at Abanazar, help Wishee Washee, laugh with Widow Twankee and aww at Aladdin and Princess So-Shy. PC Ping and PC Pong also need your support in more ways than one. But as well as all this the cast need your participation for the “oh no it isn’t” and the “he’s behind you” and most importantly the community song.

“We appreciate all the support we receive from the community and we hope to see you all next week!”
