SITE-SPECIFIC theatre company Grid Iron is back at Dundee Rep Theatre with their latest award-winning show Barflies.

Barflies will be performed in the theatre’s upstairs bar from February 16 to 18 as part of a tour performing in pubs and theatre bars in Scotland and Wales.

First performed at Edinburgh Fringe in 2009, Barflies is a visceral look at the pains and glories of drunkenness and all the humour, horror, hope and devastation it can bring. Drawn from the short stories and poems of cult American writer Charles Bukowski, Barflies is a rumbustious encounter with his alter-ego Henry Chinaski and a bevvy of the women who shaped his life and work. Performed by Keith Fleming, Charlene Boyd and composer David Paul Jones this lively production won a Herald Angel and a Scotsman Fringe First 2009 when performed in the original venue in Edinburgh. Performances begin at 9pm. This production is suitable for age 18+ and contains adult material. Tickets from 01382 223530 or online www.dundeerep.co.uk
