Angus Arts is set to welcome back the Silly Boys to Fettercairn on Saturday, November 29.
Sue Waddicor, Administrator of Angus Arts, explains: “We hosted the fantastic Silly Boys last year with their hugely successful show ‘The Tallest Horse on Earth’. It proved to be a big hit both with our audience and with us.
“Our small team here at Angus Arts all thought it was one of the funniest, most heart-warming shows we’d ever hosted, so we didn’t hesitate to grab the opportunity to have them back with their new show ‘The Elves and the Shoemaker and Other Stories’.
“With this show the Silly Boys’ mission is to repackage some of the best-loved fairy tales for a new generation of youngsters. The premise of the show centres on three lost children, wandering through a dark forest. Tired, hungry (and smelly) they decide to share some of the weird and wonderful stories that they have heard along the way, and so we are introduced to a range of characters including the gingerbread man, a ravenous fox, an emperor in the altogether, and of course the eponymous shoemaker.
“All of this is told in the Silly Boys’ own unique, magical, hugely entertaining (bonkers) way, combining original song, music, shadow play, puppetry and daft dancing!”
Sue added: “We are really lucky to be one of only five Scottish dates on their current UK tour.”
‘The Elves and the Shoemaker and Other Stories’ starts at 3 p.m. on Saturday at Fettercairn Village Hall and tickets cost £7 for adults, £6 for children, £3 for under-fives and family tickets cost £24.
Tickets can be purchased from Angus Arts on 01561 298173 / 01356 648669 / 01356 670304, by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or booked online with NEAT at www.neatshows.org.uk.
