Arbroath Bowling Club has taken delivery of a new defibrillator, donated by another club following a recent fixture.

The Arbroath club has been fundraising for the equipment to keep in its clubhouse, and at a recent friendly fixture against Hillside Edinburgh, the visiting club became aware of the campaign.

They happened to have a spare defibrillator on their own premises and sent one up to Arbroath this week.

Commenting on the gesture, Kenny Southorn, club president, said it would be placed in a prominent position in the committee room.

Mr Southorn added: “It’s great that we now have our own defibrillator, I just hope we never have to use it.”
