Agri charity raises £34,000

Seventeen teams battled it out in the multi-sport event at the end of August which saw competitors take part in stages between Fort Augustus and Fort William, completing 46km mountain biking, 18km walking, 17km running and 6km kayaking.

Newcomers Team Shannoch took home the trophy, but Agrovista’s Team #ForOurGrowers who have come top of the fundraising leader board having raised a fantastic sum of £5730 including gift aid.

Carol McLaren, RSABI Chief Executive, said: “Huge thanks go to our supporters and partners Agrovista who went the extra mile with their fundraising, raising over £5700.

“Funds raised will help RSABI provide vital emotional, practical and financial support to people involved in the Scottish agricultural industry. These are challenging times, and many are worried about rising costs. I’d encourage anyone who is finding things difficult to get in touch with our friendly, professional team to see how we can support you.”

As well as taking part in the Great Glen Challenge, the Marketing Team at Agrovista are also clocking up their kilometres as part of RSABI’s #Challenge125 initiative, again sponsored by United Auctions.

RSABI are encouraging everyone in the agricultural industry to get involved in #Challenge125, with the aim to reach 125,000km collectively as an industry by 2 December, when RSABI will be holding a special fundraising dinner as part of their 125th anniversary celebrations.
