Inverkeilor WRI

For the first meeting of our new Session, 15 members visited Tea Gardens of Scotland, at Kinnettles, near Forfar, where we were shown round the plantation by Susie Walker-Munro, who gave us a very informative talk.

She has been experimenting with tea for a few years and from her several hundred bushes she produces tiny quantities of 100% pure hand-made Scottish black tea, ‘Kinnettles Gold’.

She is also a member of a group of nine ladies from Angus, Fife, Aberdeenshire and Perthshire united in their aim to create unique Scottish tea.

We were delighted to taste the lovely tea and Lesley Ferguson proposed the vote of thanks.

Arbroath Accordion & Fiddle Club

After a break of around eighteen months Arbroath Accordion & Fiddle Club will restart on Sunday the 3rd October, 2021.

Club Chairman Tony Simpson said:

“It will be a low key start to the Club’s activities as we are conscious that many of our members and club players have not met socially or perhaps had very restricted social interaction during the pandemic.

We are keen to welcome back our members and players and give them a chance to meet old friends and relax along with some locally performed music. With that in mind our first meeting will be a Club Night with no guest band but will feature spots from local musicians who have supported the club over many years.”

“Our Committee have met the Clubhouse Management of Arbroath Artisan Golf Club and we have discussed what requires to be in place as we come out of COVID restrictions and these actions focus on the safety and well being of our members and players and these include seating restrictions and use of face masks etc.”

“The doors of the Clubhouse will open at 7.00pm for a 7.30pm start and we look forward to welcoming back our supporters whom we hope will feel comfortable after such a long break.”
