Ian Wren, part of the Arbroath Co-op Community and Member Participation team welcomed this year’s new local community fund causes at a meeting held at the Co-op Mayfield store in the town.

The groups benefiting from the fund this year are RNLI Arbroath, Hope Organic Garden and The Learning Tree Partnership. The Co-op invites groups to apply for funding to support a range of community projects, from helping to improve mental well-being to protecting local biodiversity.

Arbroath Co-op members last year raised over £4000 for Skilz Academy, Angus Young Carers and PSYV Arbroath, with 2p from every pound spent on Co-op branded products put towards supporting community organisations and local causes. Details on how to sign up for membership can be found at membership.coop.co.uk. (Wallace Ferrier)
