Stagecoach employees clock up thousands of miles for children's charity
The challenge, named ‘Marvellous Miles’ saw employees from across the UK each try to clock as many miles as they could in a competition between its different operating companies in order to raise over £1000 for the charity.
The charity provides specialist nurses and support for seriously ill children. There are currently 86 Roald Dahl Nurses caring for over 25,000 seriously ill children across the UK.

Stagecoach, which employs 23,000 people, has a continuing partnership with Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity as part of its Giving for Good initiative, which supports its commitment to donate 0.5% of pre-tax profits every year to charitable causes.
It also has national partnerships with Missing People, the Trussell Trust and Happy Days.
Marc Atkins-Turley, commercial director and chairperson of Stagecoach charity committee, said: “It has been great to see our people get involved in fundraising for the charity whilst getting competitive to see who could walk the most number of miles across the month with our team in Manchester being crowned the winners.
“This has been the first year we have partnered with charities in this way.”
