The midfielder is in his 12th season with the Links Park side showing an incredible loyalty to the club.

Masson, who had brief spells with Brechin and Arbroath in his early career, has become a pivotal part of Montrose’s success for over a decade now and, this weekend, Arbroath will visit for a testimonial game.

A testimonial dinner was held last week, which sold out, and saw Masson’s time at the club hailed by Montrose team mates and other guests.

Attention now turns to this Saturday’s match which, as well as serving as a testimonial game, will also be an important part of both Montrose’s and Arbroath’s pre-season preparations.

Masson's testimonial committee said: “Terry is an Arbroath lad but nobody can question his incredible loyalty to the club.

"It will be great to see both sets of fans coming to support Terry on this monumental occasion.

“The kick off is 2pm at Links Park and it will be a cash gate of £10 adults and £5 concessions.”

Montrose kicked off their pre-season friendly schedule last weekend when they hosted Formartine.

A Craig Johnstone double, and goals from Lewis Milne and Michael Gardyne, saw Montrose recover to see out a 4-3 win over their visitors after going behind by two early goals. Mo stay at Links Park for their next friendly fixture which will be played on Tuesday, July 5.

Dundee are the visitors for that match.
